Seeking information on Charles Patrick Karnes, born Simcoe, Ontario,
son of Patrick Karnes and Ellen Croft. The 1891 census lists Charles
age 6. He had one sister, Mary Jane, born 1882 who married Burley Smith;
and a brother, Hubert, born 1890 who married Lydia Davis. We can find no information on Charles from 1891 until he moved to St Thomas in 1918 to work on the Michigan Central Railway as a fireman. Charles died in 1930.
Patrick died in 1894. Ellen remarried John L Smith and had three more children.
The family name has been found spelled Carnes/Carns/Cairnes/Karns/Kearns and Cairns.

grandfather Aaron Kitchen (1831-1913) and his wife Sarah Reid (1835-1913) both of Norfolk County. Aaron may be the son of Caleb Kitchen of Townsend Township. Sarah was the daughter of Benjamin Reid, born in Rhode Island (1804-1871) and Elizabeth Reid (1810-1891) of Norfolk County.

grandfather Thomas E. Kitchen born in Norfolk County (1864-1932). His wife Emroy/Emma
Dean (1865-1942). They lived in Windham Township at LaSalette and Round Plains. Thomas
was the son of Aaron Kitchen (1831-1913) and Sarah Reid (1835-1913).
